Still there?

Hi, is anyone still here? It's been a long time since I've seen a post.

In a week, I'll be 52 and am an asexual. Also a virgin both by choice and circumstance. Recently, a friend ask why I had no wife or children. Given the current state of my life, seeking out a wife would be contraindicated. As to children, I've never wanted any and, given the means by which you acquire them, I've no interest in making any of my own. One might say I'm childfree but not rabidly so. I think kids are okay for other people who want them but definitely not for me.

Anywho, my friend seemed dumbfounded that I have no family of my own. Parents and sibling died out some time ago. But I *do* have a family - the pitbulls here are my family. Granted they aren't human but they're family anyway.

So, how're y'all doing?

I'm still here. I'm 31. Living with housemates -- one of my life ambitions is to get to a point where I can afford to live alone. No interest in children.

I guess I feel settled enough in my asexuality that I don't have anything to say about it, unless some ignorant comment puts me on the defensive.

Still here :) *waves* 30. My sibling and I live together -- not easily financially, but we're making due.

Some people, asexual or not, never have families. That's not a failing. Just a life choice. I consider my cat my little one :)

Pets can definitely be family. :) I'm 37 and currently live alone. Never really wanted kids of my own either. I've learned over the years that some folks find that really hard to imagine.

It's nice to see a post on here. I know I personally just haven't had a lot to say lately, nor a lot of energy for socializing, even online. But it's nice to meet you.

Not still here, but new here! I'm 20 & have been identifying as ace for seven years, which is usually considered a long time by ace standards but I guess not with y'all!

No kids or significant other, but I'm young enough that no one remarks on that yet, and I love both my kitties dearly
